POD Fighter (not a platformer)

Hello flixel-artists,

I just released a new project. The main goal was to create a non-platform game with mouse aiming.
This is what it turned out (click into the thumbnail to start playing in a new window):


 

I would love to hear your feedback. Thanks to PaulGene for the tasty anti-aliasing hint ;D
The Graphics were done by Danc (lostgarden.com). Music by Eiswuxe (eiswuxe.de).

Further thanks to Titch and his Mappy Tutorial. Excellent man, it helped me a lot getting started.

You kept me playing for a little bit.

Mouse doesn't feel 'responsive enough. Seemed too, light.

Difficulty ramped up a bit much I think after level 2 upgrade.

Smoke trails, hmm, might need a little work. But fine.

Although, I did however like the control scheme. It kept me on my toes for a bit. After while though, when things got hectic, I just stayed in one place and spun in circles. Could use a bomb or two. Maybe tweak the difficulty. But still, very fun!

30k points on the first try. So the difficulty ramp is fine for me i guess. I also like the controls. For everyone familiar with FPS WASD + mouse aim should be quite comfy. Great game again! :)
