I was playing around with it a bit myself last night. I did discover that I had to update to XNA Game Studio 4.0 to get it working though. After I did that I was able to build the EZPlatformer demo.

Here is a working Project:

If you get some Font errors, just install this font:

Col i got it to build thanks a lot, but i was wondering, how can i have the flixel in a separate game library so that i may use it without having to place it into the current project?
Stuff.

Curses. I found out that you have to have XNA Game Studio 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010 Express for this. And in order to have either of those, you have to have upgraded to Vista or Windows 7. I'm still sporting XP. With the new Windows Phone integration, a little XNA work would make more sense than it used to. But I'll have to upgrade my OS to gain access to it.

I could probably downgrade the current X-Flixel port to work with Game Studio 3.1, but that still wouldn't get Flixel games on the Windows Phone emulator. I will have to consider picking up Windows 7.

I'm running XP and was able to install XNAGS 4.0 and Visual Studio Express 2010.  Make sure you've got all the .Net framework installed, I think?  I'll be able to look at it deeper when I get home tonight, but you should be able to do it.

You must have Vista/7 to develop for Windows Phone 7, but there is a separate download for XP users that allows PC and Xbox 360 development.

The Windows Phone Developer Tools are compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7. For Windows XP users, a separate download of XNA Game Studio 4.0 is available that includes only Windows and Xbox 360 functionality. The standalone installation requires that Visual C# Express 2010 or Visual Studio 2010 Professional or higher be installed.

Anybody messing around with this know of a way to be rid of/disable the LIVE! Games for Windows functionality?  I'm just messing around with making Windows games, they won't be multiplayer or have 'achievements'; currently I can't even debug a game without creating a 'local player profile' from within another LIVE-enabled game.

I started running into something similar last night, but instead it'd throw an error back in the IDE about not having a Creators Club account (though it was working fine last week), I must have set auto sign in somewhere.  I ended up commenting out a line somewhere involving the GamerServicesComponent for the time being, until I get my 360 shipped to me and all that Creators Club stuff set up.

Also you might look at this:
