Flixel IRC
« on: Sun, Oct 4, 2009 »
Would it be worth setting up a #Flixel IRC channel? I wouldn't mind having a place to hang out in during the day when I'm programming so I can bounce ideas off people or just get to know the community a bit better.

I wouldn't mind this either, but since I have a day job, and don't program every evening, I probably wouldn't be there super regularly.

I'd be down, though I wouldn't idle there much either. I think it'd be a great place for a lot of like-minded coders to exchange bytes at, mostly because there's an interesting split in the user-base: 20-30% pro coders (blitting engine devs) with the rest being n00bs, so there's a huge gap in expertise... could be fun :)

I would absolutely participate in a flixel irc channel.

May I suggest freenode.net Many many development channels exist on this network and it provides nick and channel services.

#flixel at irc.freenode.net just reached the highest population ever - two, so I guess it is at this point *the* flixel channel.

Come, idle, make it look more active!

[16:19] <racter> is Object considered one of the primitive data types?  I can't tell if the list in that paragraph is meant to be complete or just an example subset of all primitive data types
[16:20] <@fefranca> nope, everything but bools, numbers and strings
[16:20] <racter> cool thx
[16:21] <@cai> and horcruxes

<Titch> Also! Wheres my CAKE?!
<@fefranca> rawr :)
<@fefranca> Adam is buying cake once he comes here
<@fefranca> the whole "I can't connect to IRC" story didn't convince us
<PaulGene> cant see him coming in here
<PaulGene> he will get 3000 pm's
<PaulGene> and thats just from fefranca complaining about lack of optimization :P
<@fefranca> haha Paul, I have my pitchfork ready in case Adam comes down from his dark castle to our humble abode :P
<@fefranca> perhaps he just doesn't like cake, unlike the rest of you ;)

I guarantee nothing.

Free ferrets in ferraris for anyone who joins. Although we can't decide how many and what their doing in the ferraris, we think some can drive, and the others can use the brake.
