Here is a rar file with several ACO files in it so that you can emulate the color pallets of older gaming systems easily in Photoshop, included are:
  • Atari 2600
  • Amiga
  • Famicom/NES
  • Game Boy
  • Game Boy Color
  • Sega Master System
  • Sega Mega Drive/Genesis
Just navigate to the Swatches panel in Photoshop and Replace the swatches with the one you want! Also remember to Export your image for Web and Devices (I prefer PNG-8) to optimize your images and save space!

Hope someone gets some usage out of this :D

It's kinda hard to tell the difference between a few of these, but when you use them it'll cut down the filesize of PNGs by a lot! But just for the sake of SCIENCE, here's a demo.

Dude you are getting more and more retro every day!

Thanks.
I can't help it, it's in my blood!

You rock, keep it in your blood ;) and donate some blood to me! I'm willing to transfuse xD

BTW, if you have some upbeat tracks laying around that you would like to see in a game but not yours, I'm searching for some music but I don't think I'll do music myself for my current game. Your demo song really rocked, I'm yet to see what else you can come up with!

Yeah man, I'm always down :)

If you ever have a game that's coming near to completion and you want some music send it my way and I'll try to compose something that I think might fit!

Oh god, music...

I have sixteen songs to write xD

I used the NES palette in Snaily and the graphics were tiny.  For my current project, I'm using a custom 96-color palette :-D

For my current project I'm using a custom palate about that big as well. I might try and cut it down when I'm finished, but once you get around 64, adding more colors doesn't really seem to add a lot to the overall filesize until you get up to 128 or so.

Snaily is awesome btw :)
