help / How to resize the game to device's screen size?
« on: Tue, Jun 28, 2016 »
Hi,

How I can resize my game to fit (closest fit to preserve aspect ratio) in mobile devices?

There are some methods on the forum but I could not get any of them to work.

Could anyone get this to work? I did what he suggested but nothing scales.

Would you go in details? I'm at the same point and porting my game to AIR but don't know what to do and Googling isn't helpful.

Hi,

How can I add touch controls for my flixel game? I need a virtual joystick for arrow keys and two buttons for jump and shoot.

Thanks.

help / Greenlit flixel game, how to port to Steam?
« on: Sun, Nov 29, 2015 »
Hi,

I've done my Googling and apparently there is only two ways, one is to use HaxeFlixel and another is Adobe AIR. I'm a bit on a tight schedule and can't test them both. What do you guys would recommend and why?

Thanks.

Thanks man for stopping by.

To reply your question I have to say that: because at some point I want to turn an enemy bullet against themselves. So I have two main groups for player bullets and enemy bullets that I check collision with (enemy bullets against the player and vice versa.

About your suggestion, I have multiple weapons for enemies, I can find the weapon that shot this exact bullet but then I have to make several pools to have bullets for each enemy weapon, is that what you meant? (then I have to be conscious that each time I make a new enemy weapon I have to remember to add a new pool for the player)

help / Re: DAME - a new map editor made using flixel!

1) I just saw that. Problem is game project's address is different between machines, hope I'm clear:

In my machine when I set AS3 and CSV folders and export and save and give it to my game designer, then he has to change AS3 folder and CSV folder again because it's saved into the file. I hoped it would stay in DAME rather than the file.

That's the most bad-ass ending I've seen in a long time. Brilliant, mate!

Thanks!

So, how did the sponsorship/bidding come out? Are you happy with the result?

I can't say it did pay off, but it wasn't bad. I probably will not make flash games again and planning to move to mobile world. I'm creating a game for weeks now but as sales went for the last project, I would be happy to gain experience on mobile market rather than get a few bucks on flash.

But I love Rot Gut. I had to make a good platformer for more than 6 years and now with Rot Gut, I can focus on other genres more easily.
